As mentioned on my fluids page, synthetic fluid
ruined my synchros, so I had to get a new transmission. I got a new-to-me used
transmission with 59K kms on it, to replace my 141K km transmission with fried
3rd gear synchro.
I had the clutch replaced at 141K as well, since I felt it was starting to go.
I was somewhat suprised when the clutch was taken out, and we saw that it was
worn past the rivets, to the point of wearing a groove in the pressure plate. I
upgraded to the 1.8L clutch, and have noticed quite the difference. I really
like it, but it'll take some getting used to.
