I thought it might be interesting, if depressing, to attempt to make a list
of how much this car has cost me since I bought it. I've had a astoundingly
unlucky time with this car. My mechanic likes to go on about how reliably
Miatas are, but shakes his head in disbelief every time something happens to my
car. We've concluded that my car is either cursed or posessed. Things that
just don't break do break on my car.
Where possible I'll dig out reciepts and list costs as detailed as I can,
along with dates. Until I get around to that though, there's going to be a lot
of estimating.
I've listed "maintenance" for anything that is something that one should
expect to have to replace, such as tires, brakes, etc. Anything else that's
been replaced because it was broken is "repair". Anything that was replaced
even if it wasn't broken is an "upgrade". Some things were broken, but replaced
with significantly better (and usually more expensive) counterparts. Those I've
listed as "repair/upgrade".
